Garlic Bread with Mayo and Cheddar



I know what you are thinking, how gross it sounds to have mayonnaise on garlic bread. Trust me, you do not know what you are missing! I made this to go with the lasagna I made for Christmas dinner, and it was REALLY yummy. Luckily the lasagna was good, otherwise I wouldn’t have had enough bread! I made two loaves of it for 12 people, and there was NONE left! Delicious!


  • 1 loaf French bread, split or sliced
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2-3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup sweet onion, diced (omitted)
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped fine, or 2 tsp dried parsley
  • 4 tablespoons half-and-half cream


  1. Mix mayonnaise and next six ingredients in a small bowl
  2. Spread on split or slice french bread, and bake in the broiler appx 5-6 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  3. WORD OF WARNING! Watch the bread closely! The first batch almost burned, and it was under the 5 minutes.
